LOGLINE: When an industrious farmer with a knack for creating amazing inventions is robbed of everything he has by a greedy banker, he must take matters into his own hands to steal back a contraption he built to save his sick child.
SUMMARY: HANK ROYSON used to be an inventor for the War Department, designing weapons used in some of the bloodiest conflicts of the Civil War. But after nearly losing his life in battle and witnessing the death and destruction his creations caused, he vowed never to take up arms again. Settling out West with his wife, Mary, Hank pined for the simple life of a farmer. Toiling his days away, creating new gadgets to efficiently run the homestead, including steam-driven tractors and a mechanical arm to replace the one he lost at Gettysburg. But his quest for the uncomplicated has not gone his way. A decade removed from battle, Hank continues to fight on a different front - losing Mary to polio, facing mounting debt, dealing with a crippling drought that’s rendered his crops useless, and caring for a sick child. To make matters worse, greedy banker, DAVIS VADEN, is pressuring Hank to sell off his farming inventions, with sights on a defense contract with the government. But Hank turns Davis down, not wanting his creations to be used for purposes of war. Not long after rejecting the offer, the bank seizes Hank’s farm and everything he owns, including a respirator he built to help his daughter breathe. With his back against the wall, Hank must put his know-how to good use and choose between aggression or pacifism to save his child and get back what’s rightfully his.
